No account of life on old SI would be complete without calling up memories of natural events that affected the Island from season to season. It was hot in Summer, cold in Winter, crisp in Autumn (made you wanna throw a football), and delightful in Spring. But there were thunder and lightning storms, hurricanes that blew down trees and wires, snowstorms that stopped cars and buses, and sometimes, just in time for Santa, gentle snowfalls that made you want to go out walking in your galoshes, scarf, gloves, and hooded coat, along Victory Boulevard in Four Corners, the new snow crunching under your boots, your breath visible, and your cheeks rosy. When the plows threw up huge piles of snow the next day, burying the cars, you made igloos and forts out of the piles, and the snowball fights began, while the fathers dug out cars and put on chains.

Remember any of those storms? What did I leave out?
