JFK made a campaign visit to SI in 1960. He came thru the ferry terminal and my boss tried to hand him a bottle of spirits from the liquor store in the ferry terminal. He, or someone close to him, according to my boss, accepted the bottle and handed it off immediately. Queen Elizabeth also visited SI while I was at Curtis, circa '57. She waved and said "Hi, Bob. Stop by when you're in London," as she was driven by. I've resolved, next time I'm there, to take her up on it and express my condolences over the sad fate of her former dtr-in-law, the resptected Di. Charles always reminded me, forgive me, of "What Me Worry?" sad to say.
