Wow, yeah, ferry boat memories. I remember the 'new' boats of the '50s.
But, I also remember a few older ones still operating then, like the Gold Star
Mother and American Legion. I think there was one named Dongan Hills.
And the boats with the glassed-in Ladies only smoking lounge on the lower
deck, outboard of the auto parking. A real refuge from us male animals.
And the 5 cent dates. For variety we'd sometimes take the 69th st. ferry.
Does anyone remember their names? I don't.
