I can remember a movie house on Main street nad think it may have at one time in the 60s been converted to what your talking about. I also remember a place on the corner of Main and Amboy road. The place every one went to when I went to THS was "The Hut" on Amboy at Yeatmen. It was across Amboy from the school. There was also another fountain type of place near the Little League field on Amvboy in the vicinity of the Tennis Courts and the Aqueahonga. I think in those days Tottenville had more bars on Main Street and Amboy than the rest of the Shore South of Great Kills. With the drinking age at a level that many high school seniors had met, many tried to pass. Especially on Friday nights after basketball games.

The last time I was in Tottenville in the Mid-80's it was converted to a florist shop. I wonder if a similar type of place has sprung up in Huguenot with the transfer of THS. In the 60's they had a place called the "Shack" near the SIRT station.
