I left SI after I got married and hubby was layed off from his job with the city. Early 70's. Prior to that I hadn't strayed far from the Island. Now I live in sunny SW Florida. Family still on the Island but I don't get back often. My younger daughter is convinced she will live on the Island when she's old enough to leave home. I miss it at times but you can keep the weather, the potholes in the roads and the traffic....
