It seemed like an idea to ask why some of us left, and some remained on the Island. In my case I figured that just because SI was where my folks got off the boat a couple generations earlier was not enuf reason to stick around. Eagles must fly, and I had seen San Francisco and the rest of California one summer after working at Lake Tahoe, yeah, in a casino dealing craps with a bunch of other law students. That's who they hired, knowing we would enter a licensed profession and wouldn't steal, which was good thinking on their part. California for SI wasn't a bad choice; I like to think California is the better for it. Hell, SI is the better for it. Some people improve a place by arriving and some by leaving. I'll leave the choice to the philosophers. Why did you decide to leave or remain?
