I too was lucky to have a great line up of teachers At PS29... Mrs Christianson was a warm, kind person who got me off to a good start... made me want to go to school... It was in Mrs Connell's 2nd grade class that I learned to love to read... Mrs Driscoll sure was strict... Mrs Broderick peaked my curiosity about science with stories about her son's experiments, including a crude diving bell... She liked us so much she joined us in the 5th grade... The GREAT teacher I had was Mrs Emma Vann Etten... She pushed all of us to do our best... she wouldn't accept just ok... you did it over and over till it was perfect... she had BOUQUET on our spelling test for 3 weeks, until all of the class got it right... Mr Morton Taylor was my shop teacher and gave me a broad respect for a lot of tools and safety... My mom still has the table and lamp I made in his class... Mrs Baxter was my 7th grade home room and art teacher... she was very talented and made art a fun class... Mrs Denzler was my 8th grade home room and history teacher... I remember as a wise person, civic minded and the type of person that you wanted to listen carefully too... Bruce class of '62
