Dan, I played a few evening pickup basketball games at Cromwell at nite myself; court after court after court all the way down the enclosed pier.
I've got a question for you. Do you remember the superstructure on the roof of the pier alongside the edge? Added about 20' to the roof, which was about 15' above the pier which was another 5'-10' above water level depending on the tide (6' at SI). Did you ever dive off that thing? I remember doing it one afternoon and that was it. I felt like one of those high-divers from around Acapulco who dive into a wet sponge. You had to watch out for old cables under water. As I said in another posting, there were a lot of different ways to kill yourself on Old SI and this was just one of them. Bob
