i think it's important to realize that many of us from the island were blessed to be raised and guided by people (parents, teachers, ministers, scoutmasters, etc) would gave us a set of values that had been handed down to them i.e hard work, the benefit of education, tolerance of others, etc. these values worked for them and preceding generations. it is apparent to me that for whatever reasons, there are a lot of people in this country who have not had the benefit of our kind of upbringing. what amazes me , is that in spite of the obvious benefits that this value system produces, many people choose to ignore it, thinking they have a better way. i'd rather stink with what has proven to work and i'm very thankful that many people took the time and effort to instill in me a great value system. end of speech.
