I can remember the first three, especially the Hasslebachs, I don't think anyone under the age of about 12? ever left the store without a free piece of penny candy. When I delivered the Advance Mr. Hasslebach would always buy back my extra papers. About the time I went into the Navy he was a using his old world skills as a budding artist and painted and painted a landscape of the Dutch Reformed Church. In Huguenot I palled around with I guy named Brian Horn, you must have went to school with his sister Judy who later became a nurse. I have been away along time but still treasure my youth on the Island, especially Huguenot and the South Shore. I was suprized this post did not do any better.
