What ever happened to joining a church or club? If you are not interested in joining one at least visit one. Then there is always a sure way to meet people, be a volunteer for a needy cause. The Ronald McDonald House, The local hospitals are always in need of someone to read to the children or just arrange flowers etc. Some are pink ladies or whatever the local group is called. I am sure there is someplace out there in need of help. If you can take a class in cake-decorating or the like at the local jr. college. This is a sure fire way to meet people and it is the type of class that one can chat in and not desturb the group. LOL
Hope this helps. Having been a Navy Wife for many years and moving to new neighborhoods it was always a challenge to meet new friends. I found the route was easy if one was willing to put out the effort.
