Gee! I am amazed and flattered by all the responses. Good ones, too!
I also discovered what my problem was. I always knew where Castleton Corners was. I just didn't know that the aboriginies that grew up there called it Four Corners. Incidentally, I have a really great program that I can recommend. It's called: Precision Mapping Streets V 3.0, and it's produced by, chicago Map Corporation. Their WEB site is located at: http://chicagomap.com/. It won't locate to a specific house street address, but it will locate to the block where that house street address is located. That's usually close enough. I haven't yet found a town so small that it's not listed on this CD ROM. I even found a town that doesn't have a post office of it's own.
When I was on S.I. about 6 years ago, we rode the train from Great Kills to the ferry station in St. George. But the Precision Mapping Streets program now shows that rail line as being "Abandoned." Doesn't the train still run from Tottenville to St. George?
