I'd heard that from my Father-in-Law, too. The problem with the area of Colorado that I like (climate preference-front range) is that everyone else in the country seems to feel the same way about it that I do, and it's going to be a solid megopolise seven years from now when I retire. I'll be looking for lots of sunshine, peace and quiet, good scenery, convenient central heating (I don't want to have to chop wood for a wood stove to heat the house) reliable electricity and a good internet connection. All that for about 3-cents a day :-)
I will certainly check out New Mexico.
