When I was a kid we used to take the Bus #104 or #103 from Rosebank to St. George and take another Bus to Wiessglass Stadium every Saturday night for the races. My favorite stock car was #114 driven by a guy named Jake. I made a model of that car. Some of my friends used to make models of their favorite race cars and give them to the drivers. I always wanted to race myself and I did where I lived now in Clearwater, Florida. The time I remember the most is when I was with one of my friends who drove his own car to the race one Saturday night. We were coming home and along side of us was one of the race cars that was driving home on Richmond Ave. We raced for a couple of miles until the Staten Island police came and got him and not us. His car was I think a 1949 Pontiac painted as a firechief car.
