It is so true that you can't understand Staten Island unless you grew
up there. I grew up in Tottenville and recently, on the Internet,
hooked up with someone else who grew up in that neighborhood and we
talked alot about how you just can't explain the place to an outsider.
I live in another state now, but love coming home. Some of my old friends
who have moved away can't understand why I like coming back. But I
can't help it--I love the place.
