I have a turn-of-the century photograph of Manor Road taken from the viewpoint of where the Minature Golf/Batting Range is now, along the side of the Expressway. The photograph shows a complex of buildings that vaguely resembles the little shopping center which now features the Waldbaum's supermarket and the Blockbuster video store. The photo's inscription: Monroe Eckstein's Four Corners Brewery and Hotel. I guess the whole surrounding neighborhood called itself Four Corners, much like a district in Manhattan calls itself Times Square.
