As a 50's Rock n Roller I respected him for not condemning RnR nor trying to imitate it, but rather just singing his music. So I enjoyed 'Love and Marriage which was a mid fifties hit. In the mid 60's as a part time DJ on a small 2 bit straight music station, I loved to sing along with 'Strangers In The Night'. In the late 60's, again as a part time DJ at a small country music station, I listened as his daughter Nancy put on her 'Boots Made For Walking'. As the years went by, I tried to fit my life and outlook to his 'My Way'. I even noted in his 70's detective movies (can't remember the name), how much his bearing amd mannerism's resembled my father who had just passed away. Or was the resemblence vice versa. I don't know that, but I do know he touched many of our lives in some way and we are all richer for it. May he rest in peace.

Charlie
