Actually Palindrome, now that you mention it... Being selfish and immature is for the most part, pretty average teenage behavior. Her frustrations not withstanding, it was the parents duty to dismiss her, not hers to leave. As for the 9 months jail period... it's not unusual to do little time for the loss of an infant.
An infant, however cute, as in the death of any other human being, will be evaluated on its value to society, not its value to its parents. It's sad Palindrome but it's a reality.
