PS 45 on Lawrence avenue. We didn't take a school bus but cut through
the "woods" in back of Harmon's funeral home (on the corner of Forest
and Davis avenue...Gregorio's Florist was across the street.) My
brother and his friends had a "Fonzy club/gang" that were called the
Kings because they hung out at the King's arms. Carvel was always good
on a hot summer night. The Norwegian church across the street on Bard
didn't have a roof for many years, until they got enough money saved
to put one on. I worked delivering groceries on a bicycle up on Forest
where "Blaine & Noonan's" tavern is (was?). My cousin, Danny Blaine
was a partner in the place. See ya sleigh riding up at Silver Lake!
Regards, DAN BLAINE

stickball with "Spaldeen" pink hi bouncers in the school yard.)
