ot,

I loved your little poem, go Gogh especially (Forest Dance Studio, remember). The thread between you and rs tripped a memory that I want to share with my favorite StatNislanders.

When I was at Wagner, I could not stand living at home so I took a job with The Staten Island Public Health Service Hospital in Rosebank. They paid me as a GS-1, I lived in base housing and ate meals in the mess hall. That left me wi fi dollas left ova each week.

My house mates were Native Americans who were attending the "School for Indian Radiology Technicians." My friend's Kinny T'So and Francis Mansfield and I would drive around in Francis' 59 Buick. One weekend I told them I would take them up to the "mountains" of Pennsylvania where I used to vacation. These were the Pocono Mountains near the Tri-state border (not far from Aquehonga). It was a 3 hour drive but we got to the "top of the world." A spot on Rt 6 or Rt 590 where you could see the tops of all the other neighboring Pocono mountains.

I turned to my buddies and said, "Well, here we are THESE are the MOUNTAINS;" and they said, "WHERE????" They came from Arizona and New Mexico. They knew the Rockies and the Cascades. But "The Top of The World" beat Todt Hill hands down. (Sorry Jane)
