StatNislanders may not know from foothills, Todt Hill being the only thing they call a hill there, after the Dump. Out here in the Wild West Todt Hill wouldn't qualify as a mound of gravel. The mountains back east don't qualify either, i.e,. Adirondacks, Catskills, and whatnot, being much older and worn down. Out here we have real mountains, going up to what, 8, 10, thousand feet or more. From the valley, as you start driving up, the first several thousand feet is called the foothills, for you other Faw Cawnahs-ites who haven't made the jump off the Island yet. You can go forty miles traversing the foothills before you get into the mountains, maybe more; that's traveling east from San Fran (they shoot you if you call it Frisco, dunno why).
