New Dorp is a beautiful area, and if you work in Manhattan it does not take THAT long. There are some nicely priced apartment buildings near the New Dorp Train station - infact, I lived in one on BURBANK AVENUE - a garden apartment, reasonably priced. You may also want to try Annadale, Tottenville or evn Grant City - over in G.C, there are ones with garages +++...Eltingville has a lot to offer - but the apartments are not unique.
