Boy rs you must never sleep. I posted this rather late in the evening and here you are already. They little by little have changed the format of the Wagon Train Days.

The merchants don't decorate their places of business like they used to do. Very little now. Some still dress up. The parade comes thru and now they camp along the way at Strawberry then on to Pollack Pines and then thru Placerville and it used to be that they arrived and had a big whoop de do at the fair grounds at the opening of the Fair if I remember it. Now they are each separate dates.

The merchants complained about having to clean up all the horsdroppings etc. Times sure have changed lots of things even since we are here.

We bought our acreage in 72 and used to come up in our motor home and camp on it and dream of where to put the house. We changed our minds from the creek and meadow to the top of the mountain so we would get more winter sun. Finally did move up and John retired for the third time in 80.

Moved into the city area and built three years ago. Love it. It still is a small town feeling a bit like old four corners but growing up to much.
