I'm looking to buy/adopt a dog and I'm not sure what kind to look for. I basically want a medium-sized dog that will be loyal, must be good with kids, intelligence a plus. I don't want any kind that will leave puddles of saliva on my carpets. I'm about to fulfill a childhood dream of owning a dog (mom wouldn't let me get one), so I don't want to go wrong. Please offer some advice.
