Wow! Great pictures and great memories, Art. Thanks for the trip down
memory lane. I remember the dock well.
Left a note on your guest book.
Does anyone remember the donkey (or Mule ~ whatever). Bobby Vigiano (also
of Troop 27, Oakwood Heights) fancied himself a cowboy. He was assigned to caring for the
donkey. One day I was feeding it and it got hold of my thumb and wouldn't
left go. It was biting harder and harder and I started screaming bloody murder.
Bobby came running over and got me free. We were right between the ice house
and the chow hall. You know, near the fly trap where they caught the flies
for the bug juice. Remember Sweeney who ran the candy store. And Tank
Larsen who owned a red Hudson convertible. One day during the councilers/campers
softball game, he used a big log for a bat. And the rope trick by the chow hall.
Loved the 2nd and 3rd years I went, when I wasn't a rookie anymore. Ah! the memories!
Thanks Art!
