It's been some while since I've been back to post here...although I have been back periodically to read some of the posts! My not posting before now was only because my main cyber residence...*S*...is another place....but Staten Island is my roots...and as such....I'll never leave! Courteousy of my other site...I've been blessed to have met...and become close friends with....so many wonderful souls! And I say souls...because....let's be honest...when you interact via the internet....isn't that about all we see in one another? Sure! There are misunderstandings! As a writer...I know full and well...the power of the written word...and the responsibility! But....Thankfully...when misunderstandings do occur....that same manifestation...(words)...can Explain!!!! *S* As you well know....for ever plus....there is a minus! *S* I originally had a huge E-mail ready to send you...and then......uncharacteristically for me...LOL...thought about it....and scraped it!!!! I'm on the run as I have to be somewhere in a short while...but I didn't want to drag my feet another moment before I tell you what a lovely thread I think you started...what a lovely post you posted...and that I most ASSUREDLY agree with your ~Philosopy~ of strength and perserverence. The title of this string as I said is WONDERFUL and I'm not a bit surprised that it came from You! You're a warm...kind....BRILLIANT and compassionate soul. Your passion and love of life...are so very very evident in each and everything you do! And re your early life circumstances: You know what they say right? *S* "That which doesn't break us....makes us stronger"!!! And....I like you....know personally that truer words have never been written!!!! You sure have had a toughy of a life my Friend...but...you more than ROSE to the challenges!
You know....one never knows as they journey through life...just exactly WHERE it will take them. Things you thought were a "given" are some times suddenly taken from you and at other times..."gifts" you could never fathom in a bazillion years....come your way!
You're intellect....is so very apparent...and a gift to so many ... on many levels....to be sure! However...even from our brief exchanges...it's easy to see that your REAL merit...lies in the warmth...openess....and passion of your ~Heart and Soul~!!!
I apologize to you in advance Art for doing this in your "room".......but I now take the time......in the spirit of this wonderful "room"....to explain and apologize to anyone that I might have offended in the throws of my passion as it was never my intention to do so!
Art....I....like You....am a Survivor...and a fellow ~Philosopher~ as well. While the arena of "battles" was different......we have none the less..."arrived" at the same place both mentally...and spiritually!
When I was 39 (2 years ago) I found out that I had Breast Cancer. Through the wonderful skills of a FANTASTIC surgeon.......chemotherapy...and the most loving and wonderfuls FAMILY & FRIENDS one could imagine....I'm still here!!! Yep! I'm a survivor....and all that that implies! I try very hard....to stay balanced....to stay alert...to be my OWN accuser first and foremost! When you said "It's a great life if you don't weaken"....I zoned right in on the word "weaken" for you see....I know that at times...I come across as HARD! :-( That is NEVER my intention! My passion for life and living and people are STRONG....but unfortunately one of the downfalls of a strong SPIRITUAL manifestation...is that it's sometimes viewed as HARD and UNRELENTING by others! Science tells us that there is an equal and opposite REACTION for every ACTION. Metaphysics says that there is YIN for every YANG! *S* My mother used to say....You have to take the Good with the BAD! *BWG* While the various words may be different... the message is the same!!!!
In any event....I'm on the run as I said....but before I go...I again apologize to ANY and ALL that I might have offended...and I look forward to future ~exchanges~ with you ALL!
Art...Thank You for sharing your intrinsically personal story! It was very poignant...because it was REAL and TRUTHFULL! *S* I send you a cyber {{{{{HUG}}}}} and I say...BRAVO for NOT "weakening"!!!! Your strength HAS and WILL benefit many! You're a special person indeed!
And....IF and WHEN you feel comfortable with it....*S*... I'd feel priveliged and honored if you would consider sharing your story on my website! It's still in the primative construction stages right now (which is another reason I haven't been here too often lately)....but the name of it is: ~Heart and Soul~ (What else? *S*) It's Subtitled: The Journey...Inward!!! (The latter is the name of the newspaper column I used to write. *S*)
Why don't ya think about it! K? I may put some of my old articles on the site...and I know that your post would fit right in! *S* I also KNOW...you'd be an inspiration to many people! Some of course....you might never even have the pleasure of knowing about.......but then.....when helping is the objective.......what does it matter if you don't know the names or the size of the populace! Right? *S*
