I actually posted a lenghty response under your previous message, but I will try to recreate it here. I love the north shore. I was raised on the south shore but would not move back. I have lived in that "bad" neighborhood of Tompkinsville/Ward Hill for ten years and love. The north shore is so much more convenient to services. It is also more ethnically diverse. Along Victory Blvd. between Clove Road and Bay street there is a Catholic Church a Mosque, a Unitarian Church and two blocks in on Forest a Jewish Temple. The area around Cebra and Victory has become almost 100% Albanian. There are numberous restaurants along Forest Avenue and Tugs on the water front is always nice. There is shopping and two major parks, Silver Lake and Clove Lake. There are high rise building along Victor and some of the older building, 610, 620 and 630 are pre-war works of art with parquet floors and sunk in living rooms, high ceilings and cross ventilation.I have a wonderful black mechanic and it only takes me 5 minutes by bus to get to the Ferry. If all else fails I can even walk. So you south shore lovers, maybe you should take a closer look at the north shore, it may not be what you "heard" it is. I love my neighborhood and wouldn't go back to the south shore for free.
