It is very possible that she is his wife, I believe she was an Art Teacher. However, PS30 is in Westerleigh and the Kacsurs lived between 4 corners and clove road, just above the serpentine quarry. I think the quarry is now a hillside that you can see along the expressway en route to the Verrazano bridge. I don't remember meeting his wife more than once. It is possible she had to commute the longer distance.
