Hi Pat, It is truely upsetting to hear that there is literally a flop house on the block. That would be of much more concern to me than a group home. Was the Community Board notified about that issue and I am sure (don't know where to look) there are regulations about that type of rental and CB3 don't seem like the place that would allow that. As far as parking lots go YUCK!!! the person accross road from me has a 6 car drive way that he can fit 8 cars in. He owns his own flooring company and has van in and out all hours of the day. We have informed our village office about this and traffic has improved somewhat. But short of being sure kids are in back yard or very close to yard when they are there cause these guys back up speed and so on. I also feel people saw tom's original post and just went right to the discrimination issue. Tenefly has the right idea though 1st step is to band together and get an association going. Get to board meetings and so on. I wish the best for your community because I love the south shore and was born and raised there... We just want the group home residents to have the same opportunity's as we have had. Good luck... I sincerely hope you can clean up that flop house that seems more important right now.
