I have a copy of the 1962 Wagner year book, and I will look you up. I worked on every yearbook from my freshman year to my senior year. Your yearbook was the example we tried to beat. Did you know Alex Sickert. He was the Yearbook editor when I arrived.
His brother Fred Sickert was one of my best friends. Fred went into the clergy so each night we would sit up and discuss ethics, philosophy and whether we could ever find a "situation" where it really would be ok to have premarital s*x. (not taking any changes with Hal the computer). Since you are in an "older age group" and you went to Curtis, you probably knew my sister Karen. (I have made her name into a hyperlink to her high school graduation picture.)
Do you remember Dr. Hackmann. He was one of the father's of "situational ethics." (at least I believe he wrote and lectured on the topic) In his religion classes he always liked to tell the story about Bathsheba who was "barefoot up to here '''."

Logic is only the beginning. Politics substitutes what is attractive (or self enhancing) for what is logical. To win with logic, you need to graphically spell out the consequences for each action. Then if it does not win the argument, you take the opposite position and argue that THEY take action right now! That usually brings them to their senses. Even Charlsey would agree. He's a nice guy but I wouldn't try to cut in front of him at the ferry.
