I grew up on Staten Island. Moved there when I was 2 (in 1925). You might say I was born there! When I was a teener my impression was that the passenger service ended at Arlington. There was a disused yard there with very old freight cars and a wye for turning engines. Of course the B $ O RR owned the SIRT. As re turning engines: There was also a wye in St. George between the North Shore and South shore passenger terminals plus a manually operated turntable near Tottenville.
