Great Kills Park is a great all around park to go to for almost any activity that you enjoy. Swimming at the beach, or fishing off the shore, there are plenty of activities that one can choose from.
Baseball and football fields are available, not to mention a jogging trail and a bicycle trail. Fishing and boating are very popular throughout the season.
During the summer, exploration of beach trails, dunes, and surrounding grasslands are organized by casual visitors and groups as well. During the spring and fall, organized groups and classroom fieldtrips partake in scheduled geology walks, stargazing, birdwatching, and monarch butterfly walks.
