I'm afraid I still wouldn't live on Staten Island again. I've lived in too many places with "wide open spaces" to be so crowded. But I'm glad I can enjoy my visits now and that I can make more of them than I have in the past.
It's a shame that when people think they're "invisible" on a web board like this that manners and politeness go out the window!!! I thought I was making a positive comment about Staten Island. I don't appreciate the implication that I "bitched." (For those who are offended, I apologize.)
Facts are facts--Staten Island was in a bad way for a time, and I don't think I'm alone in feeling this way. The changes I've seen are good, and I hope they continue. Staten Islanders, former and current, should be proud.
